If you are a golf enthusiast or want to give it a try for the first time, here is a little guide on the best destinations where you can tee off.

Bangkok & Nearby

Although there are many great golf courses in Bangkok, the best ones are actually a bit outside in places like Pathum Thani, Samut Prakan and Ayutthaya.

Most of them are just an hour or two away from downtown Bangkok.

The Thai Country Club in Chachoengsao province for example, is one of the most prestigious and iconic award-winning golf courses in Thailand. It is just 1 hour east from Bangkok in the outskirts. This gorgeous 18-hole course also has a driving range to practice. When not playing, you can even enjoy their jacuzzi pool, steam room and sauna.

Another fantastic top golf cours just an hour from Bangkok is Ayodhya Links in Ayutthaya. It is probably one of the most exclusive golf clubs in Asia where membership to the club is by invitation only. It has been awarded as the 76th best golf course in the world in 2015.

Alpine Sports Club in Pathum Thani also makes for a great option. 

The top golf courses within city limits are Rajpreuk and Navatanee

Overall there are approximately 40 to 50 golf courses of all shapes and sizes in and around Bangkok, so there are plenty to choose from. There are dozens of driving ranges that can be found within the city and nearby.

Chonburi / Pattaya

Chonburi has some of the most beautiful and best golf courses in Thailand. This province has about 30 unique courses, each offering challenging holes.

The top golf clubs are Laem Chabang International Country Club, Amata Spring Country Club, Chee Chan Golf Resort, and plenty others.

Siam Country Club in particular has 4 different branches around Chonburi that are worth checking out. Old course, Plantation, Waterside, and Rolling Hills each have something different to offer in terms of layout, difficulty levels, scenery and facilities.

Hua Hin

Phuket

You would never imagine an island having golf courses but you would be surprised as Phuket, combined with Phang Nga, has 10 stunning golf courses. 

This idyllic yet easily accessible island is a true paradise for golfers and vacationers. 

In fact, one of Phuket’s golf courses, the Blue Canyon Country Club, won Thailand’s best golf course in 2022 according to the World Golf Awards.

Another great option is the Laguna Golf, which is part of a fully integrated destination resort. If you are a beginner or want to build a career in golfing, this club also has an academy where you can take lessons from qualified PGA professionals.

Chiang Mai

The northern natural landscapes of Thailand offer unique and gorgeous mountainous backdrops for golfing.
