Hua Hin is a popular vacation destination for Thais, expats, and international tourists. It has beautiful beaches, fantastic resorts and villas, a thriving nightlife, and modern-day urban conveniences.

But there is a lot more to Hua Hin than meets the eye. Just drive further south from the main Hua Hin town and you will be in awe of some of the most incredible natural wonders and hidden gems.

Join us as we explore quaint beaches, scenic viewpoints, and wonderful nature landmarks beyond Hua Hin you probably didn’t even know existed.

Sai Noi Beach

Sai Noi Beach is one of the prettiest beaches you will find around Hua Hin. It is a nice sandy beach in a tranquil cove.

The water is pretty clear here and the beach itself is a mix of soft and rocky sand.

It has a very peaceful and local vibe here unlike Hua Hin Beach.

There are also a couple of nice bars and restaurants right along the beach as well as local vendors who sell Thai food and snacks.

Great place to hang out, go for a swim, or relax under the sun.

And if you like to climb rocks, there are rocky outcrops on both ends of the beach.

The backdrop of rocks, sand, and sea is perfect for taking pictures.

Sai Noi Khao Tao Viewpoint

If you like the view at Sai Noi Beach, then you should make your way up to the Sai Noi Khao Tao viewpoint where you can see the beach, sea, and other scenic vistas.

To get up here, you can drive to Wat Tham Khao Tao and then walk up a path to the viewpoint through a monastery.

It’s also a popular spot for walking, jogging, and cycling.

Koh Singhto

Koh Singhto which directly translates to Lion Island is named so because the island looks just like a resting lion.

This tiny little island can be easily accessed by hiring a boat at Khao Takiab fishing village.

There is a tiny beach on the island but there is nothing much else to here unless you book a tour from the mainland that brings kayaks and paddleboards on board for you to use.

It’s also popular for snorkeling and fishing.

Pran Buri Dam

Pran Buri Dam is an incredibly picturesque place that is about 30 minutes from Hua Hin.

It is a hidden gem that is rarely visited but is definitely worth the short trip.

The dam features a gorgeous lake surrounded by rolling hills and clean roads. It’s truly an oasis.

You won’t find big crowds here except for a few locals and tourists who enjoy nature.

There will be a couple of people paddle boarding while others spend time fishing or relaxing by the waterfront.

Pran Buri Forest Park

If you enjoy walking through lush green forests and above beautiful mangroves, the Pran Buri Forest Park is a must-visit.

The national park is free to enter but if you want to take a boat ride around the mangroves, there is a fee for that.

This place is unbelievably gorgeous and peaceful.

Ban Pa Mak Community

You are not going to find Ban Pa Mak Community on any blog or travel website.

The word hidden gem gets thrown out a lot but this place is truly it. Although the journey to this place takes almost 2 hours from Hua Hin, it is certainly worth the trip.

The village features scenic views made of rivers, mountains, and lush trees.

And it is not just the destination that is incredible, the journey is also quite interesting with dirt roads and unique beautiful views along the way.

If you like being off the grid, this is the place to visit.

Khao Sam Roi Yot National Park

Khao Sam Roi Yot National Park is an out-of-this-world natural wonder that is about an hour south of Hua Hin.

The name Sam Roi Yot means mountain with three hundred peaks and if you visited this place, you would see why it is called that.

It is a massive national park with beaches, caves, viewpoints, and hiking trails.

If there was just one place you had time to visit in a day while in Hua Hin, Khao Sam Roi Yot should be at the top of your list.

Yang Chum Reservoir

Yang Chum Reservoir is a similar resting spot to Pran Buri Dam. It has a beautiful lake, roads, mountains, and natural vistas.

It is a great place to chill, fish, or soak in the views.

You also get incredible views of Sam Roi Yot National Park from here.
